Seminar:Transport Policy in the North

The Northern Sparsely Populated Areas-network (NSPA), a network consisting of the regions in the north, is organising a seminar on Transport in the North the 7 March 2013 at the Permanent Representation of Sweden to the EU in Brussels.

There will be keynote speakers from the governments of Finland, Norway, Russia and Sweden, the European Commission as well as the Secretariat for the Northern Dimension Partnership on Transport and Logistics (NDPTL). The seminar is moderated by Mr. Fabian Zuleeg, Chief Economist at European Policy Centre (EPC). The topics to be touched upon are how the transport policy contributes to the development in the Barents-Euro Arctic region and how infrastructure projects can and should be financed. The speakers will give their view on the opportunities and the impacts of on-going and envisaged activities in the Arctic region and of the Northern Route on trade and transports and the preparedness on regional, national and EU levels for the future development. The seminar will be followed by a reception.

The EU ARCTIC Forum is welcoming this seminar and the EUAF will also continue to organise meetings, briefings and events with its partners on concrete themes such as energy, transport, raw materials and research.
