Condolences to the victims of the terrorist attack in Norway

The EU ARCTIC Forum conveys its most sincere condolences to all victims of the shocking events in Oslo and Utøya in Norway, Friday 22. July 2011.

Over 76 people were killed in the attack on government buildings and on Utøya. Young people had gathered on the island for an annual political youth camp and were brutally executed in front of their friends.

“I would like to express my deepest condolences and strong sympathy with the people of Norway in light of this tragedy,” says Steffen Weber, Secretary General of the EU ARCTIC Forum.

The whole world takes notice of and is impressed by the solidarity and support the Norwegians have given each other in these hard times. The Secretariat of the EU ARCTIC Forum is  expressing its solidarity with the Norwegian people and the families of the victims.
